(9344) Klopstock is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on September 12, 1991 by the German astronomer Freimut Börngen at the Thuringian State Observatory Tautenburg ( observatory code 033) in Thuringia .
The asteroid is named after the German poet Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock (1724–1803), an important German exponent of sensitivity .
