(9357) Venezuela is an asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered on January 11, 1992 by the Venezuelan astronomer Orlando A. Naranjo at the Observatorio Astronómico Nacional de Llano del Hato ( IAU code 303) near Mérida .
The asteroid was named after Venezuela, the homeland of the discoverer.
