1,4-Dibromobutane is a chemical compound from the group of aliphatic , saturated halogenated hydrocarbons . 1,4-Dibromobutane shows similar reactions to the monobrominated 1-bromobutane , but in contrast to this it is functionalized twice .

One way of preparing 1,4-dibromobutane is the double bromination of 1,4-butanediol .
