1- O -Methyl- D -glucose is a methyl glucoside and comes in two forms, α and β. It can be produced from glucose and methanol with acid catalysis . It is produced by mammalian cells in cell culture , by spores of Mucor racemosus . and taken up to a small extent by the sugar beet .
