The 122nd Infantry Division was a major unit of the army of the German Wehrmacht during World War II .

history

The division was put together on October 7, 1940 by Wehrkreis II (Stettin) in the 11th wave of formation at the Groß Born military training area , one third each from troops from the 32nd , 258th and the drawn parts of the 14th Infantry Division , which was converted into a division (mot.). The division was used in the war against the Soviet Union in the Baltic States , in the Kesselschlacht von Demjansk , near Newel and in 1944 in Karelia .

She surrendered with the Kurland Army Group on May 8, 1945.
