description
In contrast to many companions of the Britpop movement such as Oasis and Supergrass , Blur moved more and more away from the British trademark sound of the decade towards the end of the 1990s and hit comparatively experimental paths inspired by the American lo-fi sound and psychedelic rock of the 1970s a. Only the second single Coffee & TV is reminiscent of the band's earlier sound. For the first time the band adopted on this album also by her longtime producer Stephen Street and worked for a rock band uncommon with the hitherto only in the electronics sector prestigious William Orbit together of the year before Madonna's album Ray of Light had produced. The album was largely enthusiastically received by international critics.
