144P / Kushida is a periodic comet of the Jupiter family whose orbit is between Earth and Saturn . The comet's orbital period is 7.6 years.
Discovery story
Yoshio Kushida discovered this comet on January 8, 1994 . Patrick Rocher calculated the orbit of the comet from 325 position information, which was then successfully rediscovered on July 25, 2000 by CE Delahodde and OR Hainaut.
Return of the comet in 2008/2009
At the turn of 2008/2009, 144P / Kushida became brighter than expected and could easily be observed with a small telescope.
