background information

After reaching third place at the Ö3 Soundcheck 2005, the band released their official debut single Summer Sun after a long break , which reached number 33 in Austria, sold well in Austria for 5 weeks and was also able to establish itself in the listener charts of the radio station Ö3 . It was not until six months later that the single Not In Love Anymore , which was also considered a promo single, was released and used as a promotional song for an open-air concert on the station Ö3. The single didn't make it into the charts, but it made the band more interesting for the media again. In May the single Butterfly Tree / Vital Signs was presented, which sold the best of all songs published so far and reached number 20 in the Ö3 Austria Top 40 and # 2 in the Austro hit charts.

1st Last Will entered the album charts of the Ö3 Austria Top 40 at number 13 at the end of June , although it was unable to hold onto this position, it was on for 10 weeks. After the success, producer Kahr announced that the album would also be released in Germany and Switzerland.

Summer Sun

Summer Sun is the album's first release and was released almost a year before 1st Last Will . The song is a pop-rock ballad that is sung very calmly. At the same time it was also the participant song at the Ö3 Soundcheck with which they could achieve 3rd place. The song was released on September 8, 2006 and two weeks later it rose to number 43 in the Austrian charts and improved to 33rd place.

Video

In the official video, the band members play in the moonlight in a shallow body of water and prowl through the reeds. The scenes were shot on Lake Neusiedl .

Track list (maxi CD)

The following tracks are on the maxi CD for the single:

  1. Summer Sun
  2. Summer Sun (Instrumental)

Not In Love Anymore

Not In Love Anymore is the second single from the album. This is a much more rocking song than its predecessor. The song was released on January 19, 2007, but could not place in the charts. It was initially used for advertising purposes by the station Ö3, but was then replaced by Totally Alright by Ian O'Brien-Docker .

Video

The video simulates " zapping " through various TV channels. Live recordings of the band alternate with satirises on TV commercials, for example for mobile phone ring tones of the type “Choose 1 for Summer Sun, choose 2 for Not In Love Anymore” .

Butterfly Tree / Vital Signs

Butterfly Tree / Vital Signs is the commercially most successful single from Excuse Me Moses to date. It peaked at number 20 and stayed on the charts for 20 weeks. At Butterfly Tree there also is a ballad that, however, together with the song Vital Signs appeared on the maxi CD which forms a contrast with the musical harder line. This subject point also reflects the cover artwork of the single.

Video

The video for Butterfly Tree shows a cozy summer evening scene: the musicians play acoustic guitars together, which alternates with scenes from a barbecue with friends.
