The 3rd arrondissement is an arrondissement (municipality) of the city of Marseille in the south of France . In 2008 45,515 people lived here.
It is in downtown Marseilles. In the north it borders on the 13th (point of contact), 14th and 15th arrondissement . In the east it is bordered by the 4th, the south by the 1st and west by the 2nd arrondissement .
