The 9th arrondissement is an arrondissement (municipality) in the city of Marseille in the south of France . In 2008 76,819 people lived here.
The arrondissement is located in the southeast of the urban area. In the north it borders on the 10th and 11th arrondissement , in the east on Cassis and Aubagne . The Mediterranean forms the natural border in the south.
