The 2nd arrondissement is an arrondissement (district) of the city of Marseille in the south of France . In 2008, 25,227 people lived here.
It is in downtown Marseilles. The arrondissement includes the older part of the Marseilles harbor and the old quarter Quartier du Panier . In the west, the Mediterranean forms the natural border. To the east it borders on Arrondissements 3 , 14 and 15 . To the south is the 1st arrondissement .
The arrondissement is divided into four districts :
