4-Iodamphetamine ( 4-IA ), also known as para -iodamphetamine ( PIA ), is a research chemical from the group of phenethylamines and belongs to the amphetamines within this group . It causes the neurotransmitters serotonin , dopamine and noradrenaline to be released and is extremely neurotoxic . It causes selective destruction of serotonin neurons in the brain. It is more potent than closely related substances such as 4-bromamphetamine or 4-chloramphetamine .
Legal
Unlike 4-fluoramphetamine, 4-iodamphetamine is not subject to the Swissmedic Ordinance on Narcotics in Switzerland .
In Germany, 4-iodamphetamine is not subject to the BtMG .
