- 7th year of reign of the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar II (598 to 597 BC): After the conquest of Jerusalem on March 10th (2nd Addaru ), King Jehoiachin (Kingdom of Judah) was arrested after his surrender and brought to Babylon ( Babylonian exile ). At the age of 21, Zedekiah was made the new king of Judah by Nebuchadnezzar and forced to take an oath of allegiance.
