5 Minute is a film drama by Dan Chișu , which celebrated its world premiere at the Warsaw International Film Festival in October 2019 .

In 2013, in an art house cinema in Bucharest, a screening of Lisa Cholodenko's film The Kids Are All Right , in which Annette Bening and Julianne Moore play a couple raising two teenagers, was interrupted by representatives of a far-right movement opposed to the embassy of the film protested . The press accused the police of failing to intervene to end the conflict. The film focuses on the point of view of Nicu Holban, the head of the team dispatched by the local gendarmerie to make sure the disruption doesn't escalate.

Directed by Dan Chișu , who also wrote the script. Chișu explains that his film is about analyzing the truth and examining how it can be changed by the media, as the fourth estate, and what means they have at their disposal to manipulate public opinion. The truth looks different from different points of view, said the director, in this case there is the point of view of law enforcement and the media. He lets the young journalist Liliana Calomfir look at the escalation.

The first screening of the film took place on October 17, 2019 as part of the Warsaw International Film Festival . It was scheduled to hit Romanian cinemas on March 27, 2020, but the launch has been postponed to an unknown time due to the coronavirus pandemic.
