action

The bitter former boxer Ernie Driscoll, who had to retire because of an eye injury sustained in the ring, makes a living as a taxi driver in New York. His wife Pauline, dissatisfied with her poor life, has a secret affair with the criminal Victor Rawlins and wants to leave the country with him. But when Rawlins' fence refuses to buy the diamonds stolen from a robbery because of Pauline's complicity, Rawlins murders Pauline and tries to blame Ernie for the crime. In his escape from the police, Ernie is supported by his good friend Linda James. With their help, he succeeds in unmasking the real murderer. The two then begin a new life together.
