Lists on the subject

The 9K119 Refleks ( NATO code name AT-11 Sniper ) is a Soviet tube missile . The GRAY index of the missile is 9M119 Inwar .

development

The 9K119 Refleks system was designed as the successor to the 9K112 Kobra . System development at KBP in Tula began in the mid-1970s. The first copies were delivered to the Soviet armed forces in 1984. The 9K119 Refleks can be used by the T-72 , T-80 , T-84 , T-90 tanks , the 2S25 Sprut-SD self-propelled gun and the 2A45 Sprut anti-tank gun .

technology

The 9M119 tubular rockets can be fired from all Soviet / Russian 125 mm D-81 tank cannons and their descendants. The Refleks version can be used from standing and while moving at up to 30 km / h on stationary and moving targets as well as against low-flying helicopters, the Swir version can only be fired from a standing position.

An ejection charge drives the rocket out of the cannon barrel, immediately after leaving the barrel the rocket motor ignites and accelerates the guided weapon to cruising speed. The guided weapon is controlled using a laser beam emitted by the telescopic sight (beam rider method). The laser beam represents a modulated and coded bundle of individual beams that form a coordinate system that can be read by the guided missile, with the help of which the on-board computer calculates the steering corrections. The weapon needs 17.6 seconds to fly through the nominal range of 5,000 m. A target at a distance of 4,000 m is reached in 11.7 seconds. After a flight time of 28 seconds, the missile disintegrates itself. Depending on the version, the warhead consists of a simple or tandem hollow charge or a thermobaric warhead.
