The A834 road is an A-road in the Scottish Council Area Highland . course
The road begins in the center of Dingwall and branches off from the A862 , the former route of the A9 to the construction of the Cromarty Bridge over the Cromarty Firth and the Kessock Bridge over the Beauly Firth . From Dingwall, the A834 runs roughly parallel to the Kyle of Lochalsh Line in Strath Peffer , the valley of the River Peffery , to the west through smaller settlements such as Fodderty and Blairninich, until it turns south-west towards Strathpeffer. To the north of the road are the Blairninich menhirs . In Strathpeffer, the A834 forms the main street of the small health resort. South of Strathpeffer, the A834 at Contin reaches the A835, which has connections to Inverness and A9 to the east and to Ullapool and Kyle of Lochalsh to the west.
