The anti-capitalist left cooperation for the overthrow ( Greek Αντικαπιταλιστική Αριστερή Συνεργασία για την Ανατροπ Antik , anti-capitalistiki Aristeri Synergasia gia tin Anatropi ) is an alliance of radical left-wing organizations in Greece . The usual abbreviation ANTARSYA ( Greek ΑΝΤ.ΑΡ.ΣΥ.Α. ) means mutiny . ANTARSYA was founded on March 22nd, 2009 by ten organizations and several independents in Athens. These organizations come from different left traditions and directions. Compared to the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), the alliance is seen as more flexible and more activist.

Members

These organizations are members of ANTARSYA:

  • Alternative ecologists
  • Communist renewal (K. AN.)
  • Independent Communist Organization Serres (ΑΚΟΣ)
  • Left group (A. S.)
  • New Left Current (NAR)
  • Organization of Communist Internationalists of Greece (OKDE – Spartakos), Greek Section of the Fourth International (United Secretariat)
  • Revolutionary Communist Movement of Greece (EKKE)
  • Socialist Workers' Party (SEK)
  • Communist Liberation Youth (nΚΑ)

The "Organization of Communist Internationalists of Greece" ( Organosi Kommouniston Diethniston Elladas ) was a co-founder of the alliance, but left it again on May 18, 2009.

The groups Left Recomposition (ARAN) and the Left Anti-Capitalist Group (ARAS) have been part of the alliance since its inception, but left in August 2015 and joined Laiki Enotita .

program

ANTARSYA sees communism as a future perspective , which it would like to achieve through socialism . She rates the economic crisis in Greece as a fundamental crisis of capitalism. The alliance rejects all austerity measures taken by the Greek government in recent years and calls for the complete cancellation of the Greek debt. ANTARSYA also takes a radical stand against the European Union and demands its end, but is against Greece's sole exit from the euro. ANTARSYA is striving for an economic and social policy that is incompatible with remaining in the euro zone.

Their daily political demands are a ban on all layoffs, a minimum wage of € 1,400, drastic cuts in working hours, nationalization of banks and large companies and unemployment benefits equal to the minimum wage.

history

ANTARSYA was founded on March 22, 2009 in the wake of the riots and demonstrations of 2008 (referred to as a rebellion by ANTARSYA) after the death of Alexandros Grigoropoulos. The foundation took place at a congress with over 1000 participants, with several parties and activists.

ANTARSYA first took part in the European elections in Greece in 2009 . It received 21,951 votes and thus 0.43%. The alliance then ran for parliamentary elections in Greece in 2009 . There it received 24,737 votes (0.36%), which corresponds to a gain of almost 3,000 votes compared to the European elections. The focus of the ANTARSYA election campaign was the economic crisis and the appropriate answers based on workers' rights. This was followed by participation in the Greek local elections in 2010, in which it was able to increase significantly and received a total of 96,959 votes, which corresponds to 1.80% nationwide.

In the new elections to the Greek Parliament in May 2012 , ANTARSYA received 75,428 votes (1.19%). Since the parties elected to parliament could not agree on a governing coalition, new elections were held in June. According to the survey results, there was a real possibility that the left-wing SYRIZA party could become the strongest party in parliament. That is why the renewed election of ANTARSYA was also controversial internally. The alliance nevertheless ran for the parliamentary election in Greece in June 2012 , but deteriorated significantly with a result of 20,389 votes and thus 0.33%.

After the declaration of new elections for September 2015 , a majority of ANTARSYA decided to vote again. Thereupon the groups Left New Composition (ARAN) and the Left Anti-Capitalist Group (ARAS) resigned and joined the newly formed split from Syriza , the Laiki Enotita (LAE). The Revolutionary Party of Workers (EEK) ran together with ANTARSYA on a list. The alliance was able to increase the election result, but not as much as predicted.
