The ATP tournament of O'ahu (officially Oahu Open ) is a former American men's tennis tournament , which in 1994 is unique in Honolulu , Hawaii was held. The venue was the Turtle Bay Resort , and the game was played on outdoor hard courts. The tournament was scheduled for the first week of January and thus served as preparation for the Australian Open . The event was part of the ATP World Series , the predecessor series of the ATP World Tour 250 .
For a long time the tournament was the only international tennis tournament in Hawaii; In 2001 and 2002 a women’s tournament was held in Waikoloa and since 2010 a men’s tournament has been held in Honolulu as part of the ATP Challenger Tour .
