AUM

AUM is a French death metal band from Paris that was founded in 2011.

history

The band was formed in 2011 in Paris by front man AUM and a friend. AUM played the guitar while his friend played the drums. They played together for a year and composed four songs before his friend had to move because of his studies. The project was then suspended. While AUM continued to write new songs, he moved to Toulouse . But even there he couldn't find a suitable drummer. In 2015 he decided to hire a professional drummer and recorded the songs with him. He then contacted Patrick Kremer, owner of Iron Bonehead Productions , about which the album Om Ah Hum Vajra Guru Padma Siddhi Hum was released the following year .

style

In an interview with Andreas Schiffmann from Rock Hard , the front man AUM stated that he was driven by black metal bands like Gorgoroth , Archgoat , Bestial Warlust , Seigneur Voland , Urgehal , Revenge , Antichrist , Blasphemy , Sarcófago , Demoncy , Truppensturm , Cornigr, Knelt Rote , Noenum, Diocletian and Teitanblood was influenced. The band itself has its roots in Death Metal, in the style of Incantation , Dead Congregation , Corpsessed , Drowned , Cruciamentum , early Necros Christos , Gorephilia , Grave Miasma , Rippikoulu, early Finnish Belial and Sun Adam . The album title is a Tibetan mantra . Schilling had reviewed the album an issue earlier. Dark Death Metal can then be heard, with vocals reminiscent of Mors Dalos Ra from Necros Christos, an "increasing and decreasing dynamic" in the style of Sonne Adam, while the " stoic, persistent blast drumming " continues Teitanblood remember. However, the songs are less chaotic and well structured.
