The A Lyga 1991 was the first season of the highest Lithuanian league in men's football after independence from the Soviet Union . It began on March 29, 1991 and ended on June 25, 1991.

mode

The champions were played in a transition season in which the Lithuanian teams from the Baltic league and the top six teams from the former Lithuanian league competed. Each team played once against each other, so that each club had to play 14 games this season. Then the first four played the national champions in cup mode.
