A Miami Tail is an American comedy film produced in 2003 with the rapper Trina in the lead role, which is thematically based on the plot of the Greek comedy Lysistrata .
action
Due to increasing violence between rival street gangs in Miami and dissatisfaction with the treatment by their significant other, the women of a deprived neighborhood come together under the leadership of Alica and form a protest movement to end these abuses. They barricade themselves together in a basketball hall and deny the men any rapprochement with the aim of stopping all violence and abuse against women. In the end, the bloody conflict in the district is interrupted , drug deals and shootings come to a standstill, and the heads of the street gangs involved have to negotiate a ceasefire . In addition, the women have demonstrated their independence, borne by the new self-confidence , and are therefore treated with more respect than before.
criticism
"Clothing discrepancies aside, director Melvin James, who made the clunker Honeybee a few years back, did a swell job with A Miami Tail. It takes full advantage of the Miami backdrop, adding to this mediocre comedy's enjoyment at times. "
background
Some scenes were added spontaneously by the director Melvin James during the shooting and realized despite missing script information.
