Claudia is little Aiden's nanny to the wealthy couple Julia and Evan. She has to save her criminal brother Carter again and again from precarious situations. Her new friend Drew is not happy about it.
When Carter has to repay a drug dealer $ 12,000 within a week, he visits Claudia, but she no longer wants to help him. Both split up in an argument. Evan is away on business and Julia's father Kurt comes to visit unexpectedly. At that moment, a masked burglar gains entry into the house and threatens Julia. Claudia is hiding with Aiden on the first floor. Julia is forced at gunpoint to open the safe and empty it completely. Meanwhile, Kurt approaches with a golf club, but is shot and dies a little later in the hospital. Claudia hides her brother's visit during the police interrogation so as not to raise suspicions about him. However, after a neighbor confirms this visit and Evans' expensive watch is found in Carter's apartment, Carter clearly seems to be the culprit and is henceforth on the wanted list. Claudia is released and moves in with Drew. Drew tells her that he was playing poker with his roommate, Jace, at a work colleague's that day. Carter assures his sister that he has nothing to do with the crime. When Claudia finds out that Drew didn't gamble that day, she suspects him. Nobody else knows the relationship between Carter, Claudia and Aiden's parents. But Drew was with his ex-girlfriend to clean the table. Jace wasn't playing poker either.
Claudia is now investigating on her own. She finds out that Jace got a new passport three weeks ago, has a visa for Brazil, and one day after the robbery has deposited a large amount of cash into his account, which has since been transferred abroad. Jace gets behind Claudia's research and attacks her. A fight breaks out in a nearby carpenter's workshop, Jace wants to kill Claudia. Arriving home, Drew hears their screams and overwhelms Jace. Claudia calls the police.
A few days later, Claudia meets with Julia and Aiden. Julia invites you to coffee.
