List of rose varieties |
The rose variety 'Aachener Dom' ( synonym 'Pink Panther', 'MEIcapinal', 'Panthère Rose') is a salmon pink colored tea hybrid that was introduced by Marie-Louise Meilland in 1981 in France as 'Pink Panther'. The rose was bred from a cross of the pink floribunda rose 'Coppelia'76' ('MEIgurami') and the apricot-colored hybrid tea 'Romantica' 76 '(' MEInaregi '). From 1982 to 2004 this rose variety was listed as an ADR rose .
education
The bushy, highly upright, strongly branched rose 'Aachener Dom' forms a small, compact shrub. The rose plant is about 60 to 90 cm high and 40 cm wide. The individually, sometimes also cluster-like arranged, silvery salmon pink to azalea pink colored flowers from 26 to 40 curved petals are characterized by a long-lasting, delicate fruity scent. In warmer regions the flower is uniformly colored, while in cooler regions the flower color is characterized by stronger color contrasts and the edges are pink-red. Shortly before they fade, the flowers have a peony-like appearance. The double flowers are 10 to 12 cm in size and are sometimes sensitive to rain. The rose has medium to large, dark green, robust leaves.
The remontant rose is hardy ( USDA climate zone 7b and warmer), blooms continuously from June to autumn and is resistant to the known rose diseases .
The rose is suitable for planting flower beds, cottage gardens and hedges. The long-stemmed hybrid tea rose 'Aachener Dom' is also used in floristry as a cut flower .
The rose variety is in many Rosarien the world, including in the Rosarium Uetersen , the Europa-Rosarium Sangerhausen , in Rose Garden of Europe Two bridges and in the garden on the south side of Aachen Cathedral shown.
hybrid
The rose variety 'Aachener Dom' has several hybrids , including the light yellow hybrid tea 'Eternal Flame ' (Meilland 2007), the light yellow hybrid tea 'La Perla' (Kordes 2006) or the pink hybrid tea 'Line Renaud' , (Meilland 2006).
Naming

The name 'Aachen Cathedral' goes on as a UNESCO World Heritage excellent Carolingian minster in Aachen back. This makes this rose variety the second after 'Greetings to Aachen' that relates to Aachen. The variety name 'Pink Panther' or 'Panthère Rose', introduced by Marie-Louise Meilland, refers to the crime comedy The Pink Panther .
