Aaron Elkins (2010)

Aaron Elkins (born July 24, 1935 in Brooklyn , New York City ) is an American detective writer . He became known and translated into more than 12 languages ​​worldwide with his series about the forensic anthropologist Gideon Oliver .

Life

Elkins' father was a machinist, his mother a housewife. Aaron Elkins graduated from Hunter College in 1956 with a Bachelor of Arts , further studied at the University of Wisconsin-Madison , received a Master of Arts from the University of Arizona in 1960 and from California State University in Los Angeles in 1962 . In 1976 he received his PhD in Education (Doctor of Education) from the University of California at Berkeley . Elkins then had a multi-year career as a government employee, consultant, teacher and lecturer at Golden Gate University in San Francisco in the fields of economics , psychology and anthropology.

Elkin's books were the template for a major television series for the American Broadcasting Company (ABC). If Elkins is not writing, it acts as a forensic anthropologist for the Cold Case Task Force of the Olympic Peninsula . Elkins married his wife Charlotte Elkins in 1972; they live in Sequim on the Olympic Peninsula, Washington , and have two children.
