Ababel Yeshaneh , full name Ababel Yeshaneh Birhane (born July 22, 1991 ), is an Ethiopian long-distance runner. It has held the world record over the half marathon route since February 2020 with 64:31 min.

successes

In 2013 Ababel Yeshaneh Birhane was ninth at the World Athletics Championships over 10,000 m. A year later she was sixth at the African cross championships and won the silver medal with the team. In 2016 she took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro for Ethiopia over 5000 m and was 14th. On February 21, 2020 Ababel Yeshaneh Birhane ran in Ra's al- Khaima in front of Brigid Kosgei in a time of 1:04:31 h new world record on the half marathon route.
