Abdi Farah Shirdon (2013)

Abdi Farah Shirdon (* 1958 in Dhusamareb ) is a Somali businessman, economist and politician. Since October 17, 2012, he has been the Prime Minister of Somalia. On December 2, 2013, he was deposed by parliament by a vote of no confidence. Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed was appointed as his successor by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud .

Life

Shirdon is the uncle of the same name Somali-Canadian IS -Kämpfers Farah Mohamed Shirdon , who in 2014 caused an international sensation after a video of him with hate speech against Canada and the United States appeared (in particular against Barack Obama). In this video, he tore up and burned his Canadian passport. In mid-August 2014 he died in fighting in Iraq.
