Life
Mohamud received primary and religious education in his native Jalalaqsi in the Hiiraan region. After he moved to the capital Mogadishu for further education in 1978 , he received a bachelor's degree in technology from the University of Mogadishu in 1981 . After the collapse of the Somali state , Hassan Sheikh Mohamud initially worked from 1993 to 1995 as an education officer for UNICEF in the central and southern parts of the country. As a result, networks , coalitions and professional associations gradually emerged in Mogadishu . After the Cairo Declaration of 1997, he was a member of a team that successfully negotiated the dismantling of the "greenline" that divided Mogadishu into north and south after the devastating 1992 war.
