Abel Lukšić
Abel Lukšić (* 1826 in Karlovac ; † August 18, 1901 in Rijeka ) was a Croatian journalist , editor , editor and publisher .
Life
He was the son of Petar Lukšić (1791–1887) and Kara Bišń (1797–1841). At the age of 35 he founded a printing company in his hometown of Karlovac in 1861, worked as a publisher and began a. a. with the publication of the magazine Glasonošu ( Ger .: Kurier ), for which several well-known Croatian authors such as the historian Radoslav Lopašić (1835-1893) wrote.
One of his most important periodicals were the Slavic leaves , official organ of the Vienna Association Slovanská Beseda , published by him since association was founded. 1865 According to self-promotion, they were "monthly books for literature, art and sciences, for public and social life, for regional and ethnology , for history, fiction etc. of the Slavic peoples, with the participation of outstanding writers and artists."
He has also published a number of travel guides on Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina .
Lukšić was an enthusiastic supporter of Pan-Slavism and the archpriest Mikhail Rajewskij and even wanted to have his Catholic children baptized by Rajewskij according to the Orthodox rite , which he refused.
Lukšić married Janela Bedeković (1830- ??) and had the children Pier and Marija with her .
