The Abendstein ( 1596  m above sea level ) is a peak in the Brandenberg Alps in Tyrol .

topography

The mountain is the middle, independent main summit of a mountain range extending over around 5 km from west to east, south of the Blauberge and north of the Guffert , to which the Schneidjoch ( 1810  m ) in the west and the Raggstadtjoch ( 1545  m ) in the east also belong .

Alpinism

The summit is reached from the Gufferthütte either via the eastern summit of the Schneidjoch, the Rotwand, or directly via Angeralm and Wildalm in around an hour. From the valley of the Brandenberger Ache, about halfway between Erzherzog-Johann-Klause and Kaiserhaus, another, marked ascent leads in about two hours to the Raggstadtalm, from which the Abendstein can be reached in about half an hour in a flat ridge ascent. Another possibility of ascent is from the Issalm in the south either over the Schneidjoch or directly to the summit.

There are numerous climbing routes on the steep walls of the Abendstein .
