Abera Kuma

Abera Kuma 2010

Abera Kuma (born August 31, 1990 in Ambo ) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner .

In 2009 he became the Junior African Champion over 5000 m . The following year he came in 17th place at the 2010 World Cross Country Championships in Bydgoszcz and won bronze with the Ethiopian team. A victory in the 10 km run of the Tilburg Ten Miles was followed by a second place in the Zevenheuvelenloop .

In 2011 he was disqualified from the World Cross Country Championships in Punta Umbría after fighting with Eritrean Samuel Tsegay on the finish line. As an Ethiopian champion over 5000 m, he drove to the World Athletics Championships in Daegu and finished fifth there over this distance.

In 2014 he finished third in the Berlin Marathon.
