Abercron is the name of a Danish and German noble family.
history
The family occurs in the 18th century in Denmark or in the duchies of Schleswig and Holstein, which are part of the Danish state . According to family tradition, it comes from the Scottish family Abercromby / Abercrombie of Birkenbog from Banffshire . Numerous family members served as officers in the Danish army until Carl Friedrich Jürgen Peter Abercron and two of his sons, the Danish cadets Friedrich Julius Konrad (1830-1892) and Carl Leopold Marius Moritz (1833-1913), lived in Schleswig-Holstein survey joined the insurgents.
In the 19th century, part of the family was employed in Mecklenburg. Through the marriage of the Mecklenburg-Schwerin Chamber Councilor Ernst Carl Christian Friedrich von Abercron (1826–1884) to Louise Charlotte Johanne Caroline von Buchwaldt (1829–1898) and the marriage of Carl Leopold Marius Moritz von Abercron to Olga Sophie (von) Schröder (1838 –1922), the daughter of Johann Heinrich Schröder , the family was able to acquire goods in Holstein: 1861 Meischenstorf and 1879 Testorf with extensive pertinence in today's Wangels community : Carlshof, Neu-Testorf, Katharinenthal, Hansühn, Kükelühn and Klein -Rolübbe (total 2244 hectares ). In 1900 the Ehlerstorf estate was purchased . The family also owned a villa with land in Groß Borstel .
In the 20th century, again through marriage, possessions in the Rhineland came to the von Abercron family: Following the marriage of Olga Countess Beissel von Gymnich (1921–2009) to Frens with Lupold von Abercron, Frens Castle and Blens Castle came into the family's possession .
