Abraham Lambertsz. van den Tempel (* around 1622 in Leeuwarden , † 1672 in Amsterdam ) was a Dutch painter .

Abraham Lambertsz. was a son of the painter Lambert Jacobsz. After finishing school, he first became a student of Joris van Schooten in Leiden . He then worked independently in this city from 1648 to 1660. In 1648 he is said to have married in Leiden as well. He worked in Amsterdam until his death in 1672. There he was under the influence of Bartholomeus van der Helst , to whom the adjacent painting Portrait of a Young Girl as Diana in 1877 by Skimborowicz-Gerson was wrongly ascribed. Lambertsz. van den Tempel painted portraits and groups of portraits of refined conception, but with conventional treatment of detail, and was thus quite successful in an era that was gradually being affected by the recession of the art market. There are paintings by him. a. to Amsterdam, The Hague , Paris ( Louvre ), Berlin and Kassel . His students are Frans van Mieris , Michiel van Musscher and Ary de Vois .
