history

A field name "Achelun" was first mentioned around 1371. The Schwaighof there , called Acheleschwaig , had belonged to the Ettal Abbey since 1480 . After secularization in Bavaria , a Peter Fischer bought the farm. The following year he sold it to the Kingdom of Bavaria , but remained there as administrator. At first the farm served as a foal farm, then as a remonte depot. Later he was a branch of the Schwaiganger State Stud . After the Second World War, the farm was converted to cattle farming . In 2006 the Fischer family acquired a third of the agricultural area and continues to farm as a family business. Two thirds of the agricultural area and the forest areas went to the Forestry Office.

Townscape

The townscape is characterized by the listed manor house built in 1695, a two-storey, elongated flat saddle roof building with a knee floor, in which an inn is set up. The gable ends of the manor and an equally elongated outbuilding with a flat gable roof are facing each other, and the street winds between them. Other smaller buildings are scattered around the area, including a farm shop and a chapel for the fourteen emergency helpers built in 2006.
