CI Acid Orange 6 ( common name chrysoine resorcinol) is the sodium salt of 4 - [(2,4-dihydroxyphenyl) diazenyl] benzenesulfonic acid, a to the acid dyes counting azo dye . Thename Chryosin S is usedfor the free acid .

Chryosin S used to be approved as a food coloring with the E number  103. Acid Orange 6 is still used as a pH indicator , as it changes its color from yellow to orange in the pH range of 11.0–12.8.

The dye is one of the tropaeolin dyes.
