life and work
From 1988 Bartz attended the first EBM and techno parties in Munich . Through visits to the Optimal record store in Munich, he got to know the founder of the Disko B label, Peter Wacha alias Upstart, and later also DJ Hell . This was followed by first publications under the alias Acid Scout on Disko B. In the following year, Bartz's first album, Safari, was released. Together with DJ Hell, Bartz produced Hell's first long player Geteert & gefedert in 1994 and part of the 1995 albino EP . Both continued their collaboration in the next few years and so the joint single Take A Shot was released in 1997 and in 1999 the Rock My Body To The Beat co-produced by Hell .
In addition to his work as a producer, Bartz increasingly appeared as an international live act. In 1996 Bartz founded his own label Kurb Records, on which Bartz 'own productions as well as publications by Hell, Savas Pascalidis , Heiko Laux and Christian Morgenstern appeared.
From the end of the 1990s, Bartz initially withdrew from everyday production. Hardly any of his own publications appeared, as he now focused more on his live performances. In the meantime he is back with two remixes of the Sven Väth pieces Moment (1999) and Fire (2003) and the live album Richard Bartz: Live At Cocoon Club Ibiza . In 2004, Midnight Man was released again on DJ Hell's label International Deejay Gigolos , an album that combined techno with electronic elements. After several EPs on his crank-Label 2006, the bias in favor of digital production still completely analog-rehearsed album was released Big , which in spring 2007 by the live album at Richard Bartz Live Harry Klein has been extended, as well as some tracks on the album Big as a live version on it.
Bartz produced remixes for a variety of other artists such as Sven Väth ( Moment ), Christian Morgenstern ( Night Of The Living Deaf ), Chris Korda ( I Like To Watch ), Jonzon ( Cardiological Stomp ), Savas Pascalidis ( Saigon Nightmare ) and Heiko Laux ( Sharpened ).
In addition to his musician career, Bartz works as a multimedia and CGI artist and photographer. He lives and works in Munich.
