Adílson Warken (or just Adílson ; born January 16, 1987 in Bom Princípio , Rio Grande do Sul ) is a Brazilian football player on the position of midfielder . He currently plays for Atlético Mineiro in the Brazilian Série A , the country's top division.

Career

Adílson came to his first larger club in 2005 when he was used in the youth of SER Caxias do Sul in the city of Caxias do Sul in southern Brazil. But his time there did not last long, because in the following year 2006 he changed clubs and joined the youth division of Grêmio Porto Alegre, based in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre . From there, after a year in his youth, he was already on the professional team with play in the Séria A. Before that, he won the U-20 national championship in Rio Grande do Sul with the youth team.

He made his professional debut in the Série A on May 3, 2007, when he was substituted on in the very first championship game of the season at half-time for Douglas de Oliveira . In the end, the away game against Paraná Clube was lost 3-0. During the entire 2007 season, the then 20-year-old midfielder made a total of ten championship appearances, but most of them were only short appearances. Almost the entire 2008 season Adílson Warken had to pause due to injury before he came to three short appearances at the end of the season.

Adílson was on the pitch for the first time on February 26, 2009, when he played in a 0-0 draw against CF Universidad de Chile during the 2009 Copa Libertadores . The young midfielder was used in twelve games and made it to the semi-finals with the team , where they lost to Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte with a total score of 3: 5 from home and return. In the hard-fought semi-final second leg, Adílson was sent off with a red card after just 60 minutes .

Previously, the defensive midfielder came to two short appearances in August 2008 in the Copa Sudamericana 2008 , where he played in both games against the eventual winner of the competition SC Internacional . From the beginning of the 2009 season, Adílson Warken became a regular regular in the team led by Paulo Autuori . Usually only used briefly by the previous coach Celso Roth , after his expulsion under interim coach Marcelo Rospide in the first two games of the season he was already used for the full duration of the game.

After being replaced by Paulo Autori, who let the player play from the start, Adílson scored his first and to date only goal in a professional league. The long-range shot in the 4-2 home win over Grêmio Barueri found its way into the opposing goal after 17 minutes, which also meant the early 2-0 lead. So he came across the entire season on 34 championship appearances; with the team he reached a place in the top half of the table in eighth place in the final table.

At the end of 2009, Adílson ranked second behind Réver among the players who made the most appearances in 2009, be it in cup, league or friendly matches. Réver came on 57 missions, Adílson on 56 games.

In 2012 Adílson moved to the Russian league in Grozny for Terek Grozny . During his time in Russia he quickly became a regular player. After he was only used sporadically in the first half of the 2016/17 season , Adílson let his contract expire and returned to Brazil.

In Brazil, he signed a contract with Atlético Mineiro in February 2017 . With the club Adílson was able to win the state championship of Minas Gerais in 2017 . In July 2019 he ended his active career because of heart problems and became a coach at Atlético Mineiro.
