Adam Baumann (born May 7, 1981 in Scottsdale , Arizona ) is a retired American basketball player . He played for a long time in the German 2nd basketball league and its successor ProA .

Career

Baumann is 2.04 m tall and weighs 110 kg. After high school , Baumann went to Yavapai Community College in Prescott, Arizona in his native US state in 2000 . There he played on the college team Roughriders in his sophomore year with the later NBA player Larry Owens . After two years, he moved to the Youngstown State University in the city ​​of the same name in Ohio , whose university teams play penguins in the Horizon League of NCAA Division I.

After finishing his studies, Baumann moved to Germany as a professional in the 2nd basketball league . From 2004 to 2008 he played four seasons with Phoenix Hagen . There he completed a total of 113 league games and achieved an average of 17 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. After Phoenix Hagen signed Bernd Kruel as a new starter , Baumann moved to the Pro-A league club VfL Kirchheim Knights for the 2008/09 season . There he managed to build on his achievements from Hagen and he finished the season as the second best rebounder, with one of the highest effectiveness values ​​in the league. In November 2008 he was voted Player of the Month by the league.

At the beginning of the 2009/10 season Baumann moved to the BBC Bayreuth. After 13 games with the BBC, he played his last game on December 23, 2009 and ended his active basketball career for the time being. At the beginning of 2010 he returned to his homeland and worked as a firefighter in Phoenix . For the 2010/11 regional league season, BG Hagen, the parent club of his former club Phoenix, brought him back to Germany. At the beginning of the season Baumann struggled with heart problems and had to sit out a few games. After the end of the season, Baumann finally returned to his home country in 2011.
