Adam Dyczkowski (born November 17, 1932 in Kęty , Poland ) is a Roman Catholic theologian and emeritus bishop of Zielona Góra-Gorzów .

Life

The auxiliary bishop in Wroclaw , Bolesław Kominek , ordained him as a priest on June 24, 1957 . From 1957 to 1963 he studied philosophy at the Catholic University of Lublin , in 1963 he became cathedral priest and lecturer in philosophy at the seminary in Wroclaw. From 1965 to 1978 he worked as a university pastor.

Pope John Paul I appointed him titular bishop of Altava and auxiliary bishop in Breslau on September 19, 1978 . The Archbishop of Breslau, Henryk Roman Gulbinowicz , donated him episcopal ordination on November 25th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Stefan Bareła , Bishop of Częstochowa , and Wincenty Urban , Auxiliary Bishop in Wroclaw.

His episcopal motto is: "Sursum corda" ("Lift up your hearts").

On March 25, 1992, Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Legnica and on July 17, 1993 appointed him bishop of Zielona Góra-Gorzów. The solemn introduction to his new diocese took place on September 5, 1993 in the St. Mary's Cathedral (Mariendom) in Gorzów Wielkopolski ( German Landsberg an der Warthe ) and on September 12, 1993 in the St. Hedwig's co- cathedral in Zielona Góra ( German Grünberg i. Silesia ) instead. At the age of 75, he offered Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation; but was asked by the Pope to lead the diocese until a new bishop was appointed.

With the appointment of Stefan Regmunt , the auxiliary bishop in Legnica as the new bishop of Zielona Góra-Gorzów on December 29, 2007, Adam Dyszkowski retired.
