Adam Iossifowitsch Ditrich

Adam Iossifowitsch Ditrich ( Russian Адам Иосифович Дитрих ; * 1866 ; † 1933 ) was a Russian architect , representative of the Art Nouveau- based modernism and university professor .

Life

Ditrich studied in St. Petersburg at the Institute for Civil Engineers , graduating in 1891. After graduating, he worked in the Crimea during the 1890s . Then he became a city district architect in St. Petersburg. Later he was the head of the construction department of the Central Agriculture Administration and the author of a number of construction projects for the Agricultural Institutes in Voronezh and Kishinev . His project for the Omsk Agricultural Institute was not implemented.

1900–1901 Ditrich built the building for a chemical laboratory together with Nicolas de Rochefort for the St. Petersburg Mining Institute . He was also at Rochefort's building of the palace in Białowieża (1889-1894) for Alexander III. involved. For the St. Petersburg Forest Institute, Ditrich built a residential building, a water tower and the partial extension of the institute building. For the doctor Sergei Sergejewitsch Botkin , son of Sergei Petrowitsch Botkins , Ditrich built a villa from 1903-1905 including an existing building. This was followed in 1904 by the conversion of the Lwow villa (Karawannaja Uliza 22) for SS Schlichting. In 1909, Ditrich converted the building at Bobruiskaja Uliza 4 especially for the Stebut agriculture courses for women. For the Botanical Garden of the University of St. Petersburg he built a library and herbarium building (Aptekarski Prospect 1) and a residential building (Uliza Professora Popowa 2) from 1911 to 1915. A homeopathy - Sanatorium he built in Sestroretsk .

Ditrich taught at the Polytechnic Institute (professor from 1900) and at the Institute for Civil Engineers (professor from 1917). He was also an architect and teacher at the St. Petersburg Forest Institute and a real member of the Archaeological Institute. In 1913 he came to Omsk to examine the existing buildings to accommodate the planned agricultural institute.

After the October Revolution , Ditrich was director of the Institute for Civil Engineers from 1926 to 1930.
