Adam Kazimierz Czartoryski (born December 1, 1734 in Danzig , † March 22, 1823 in Sieniawa , Galicia ) was a Polish nobleman and candidate for the throne.

Life

Adam Kazimierz Czartoryski was the son of Prince August Aleksander and his wife Maria Zofia . After the death of King August III. he was put up as a candidate for the Polish throne, but had to give way to Stanislaus Poniatowski . After the First Partition of Poland , he entered the Austrian service because of his possessions in Galicia . Emperor Joseph II appointed him field marshal and awarded him the title of Highness and the Hungarian indigenous population .

At the Reichstag from 1788 to 1791 and to the aspirations of the Polish nobility , the Fatherland's independence to bring back, he took keen interest but searched in vain the elector of Saxony to accept the crown of Poland and the Austrian Emperor to mediate the selfish intentions of Russia over to move.

Appointed Senator Palatinus , he withdrew to his estate and died March 22, 1823 in Sieniawa in Galicia.
