Adam Levin I of Knuth

Adam Levin I. von Knuth (born April 18, 1681 , † March 21, 1751 ) was a Mecklenburg Privy Councilor and founder of the Mecklenburg line of the ancient noble house of Knuth . He was the master of Ludorf, Gneve and Zülow.

Life

Adam Levin I was born as the son of the commissioner Joachim Friedrich von Knuth and his wife Christine, née von Wancken.

On March 8, 1701, Adam Levin I became second lieutenant and in Polish pay in Saxony. On January 9, 1703 he became Premier Lieutenant in the Grenadier Corps. On May 18, 1706 he received his departure with the character of a captain . He later became a Mecklenburg Privy Councilor.

Marriages and offspring

Adam Levin I married his paternal cousin Cornelia von Knuth (* after February 19, 1684; † 1736), daughter of Eckhard Christoph von Knuth , in 1707 . The marriage had six children:

  • Joachim Friedrich von Knuth (* 1710; † 1757)
  • Adam Levin von Knuth, on Siebenhau
  • Elisabetha Christiana († 1746)
  • Hedwig Maria von Knuth ⚭ Major General Thedel Bodo von Kniestedt (1697–1775)
  • Charlotte Sophie von Knuth ⚭ Lord of Oldenburg

After the death of his first wife, he married Sophie Elisabeth von Kamptz on January 4, 1738 (* April 17, 1708; † May 18, 1795). His second wife gave birth to Adam Levin I, son Jacob Ernst von Knuth (* 1739). This was councilor of the ducal justice chancellery in Wolfenbüttel.
