Adam Liptak (2019)

Adam Liptak (born September 2, 1960 in Stamford (Connecticut) ) is an American lawyer and journalist .

Life

Liptak received his PhD from Yale Law School in 1988 and then worked as a lawyer before becoming a journalist in 2002.

He reports from the Supreme Court as a court reporter for the New York Times .

Honors (selection)

On May 18, 2008, Hofstra University awarded him the Presidential Medal. In 2009 he was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Background Reporting . In 2014 he received an honorary doctorate from the College of Law at Stetson University , Florida . In 2020 Liptak was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .
