Adelheid von Stolterfoth
Adelheid Karoline Wilhelmine Julie von Stolterfoth (born September 11, 1800 in Eisenach , † December 17, 1875 in Wiesbaden ) was a German poet .
Life
Adelheid von Stolterfoth was the daughter of Gottfried von Stolterfoth and Caroline née Schott von Schottenstein . Adelheid von Stolterfoth grew up in Erlangen . In 1816 she and her mother moved to the Rhine, first to Bingen and later to Winkel (Rheingau) . Since the death of her mother (1825) she lived in the family of her uncle, the President of Parliament, Hans Carl Freiherr von Zwierlein , whom she married on February 14, 1844. She accompanied the Zwierlein family on their travels to England (1827), Switzerland and Northern Italy (1828). With her sister she toured Tyrol in 1840 and Holland and Belgium in 1841. After the death of her husband, she lived alternately in the Rheingau in Langenwinkel , Eltville or in Frankfurt am Main , most recently in Wiesbaden .
Adelheid von Stolterfoth became known for Rhine poems and is a representative of the Rhine romanticism : "Rheinischer Sagenkreis" (romances, ballads and legends), 1835; "Rheinische Lieder und Sagen", 1839, 4th edition 1859; "Rheinisches Album or: The Rheingau with the Wispertal and the neighboring cities of Mainz and Wiesbaden", 1836; "Stolzenfels Castle" (epic poem), 1842.
