Adelphocoris seticornis is a species of bug from the family of soft bugs (Miridae).
features
The bugs are 6.6 to 8.4 millimeters long. They have a black basic color. The pronotum has a bright rear edge. A light central line runs from the rear edge almost to the front edge of the pronotum. The hemielytres (forewings) are covered with fine yellow hairs. The corium is brightly colored at the base. The light Cuneus has a black tip. The femora are black, while the tibia , which are provided with a row of thorns, are light brown in color. The two outer antennae are reddish-brown, while the basal antennae are black. The attachment of the first antenna element has a red-brown color.
distribution
The type of bug is widespread in Europe. In southern Europe they occur in the northern Mediterranean area. In Central Europe, their occurrence decreases towards the north. In the east, the occurrence of Adelphocoris seticornis extends across Asia Minor , Siberia and Central Asia to China.
Way of life
The species prefers warm open land biotopes. There it is mostly in the herb layer. The species overwinters as an egg. In May and June appearing nymphs , as of July, the Imagines . The oligophagous bugs suckle on the immature reproductive organs of various legumes (Fabaceae). These include u. a. Vetchlings , vetch , Astragalus , clover , alfalfa , birdsfoot trefoil , kidney vetch and ononis . In addition, the adults feed on the nectar of various flowering plants, including the common yarrow , and to a lesser extent on other small animals that they prey.
