Adolf Bernhardi

Adolf Bernhardi (born March 30, 1808 in Königsberg ; † December 25, 1883 in Tilsit ) was a pharmacist , city councilor and member of the Reichstag .

Bernhardi received his education at the old town high school in Königsberg in Prussia and studied pharmacy at the university in Berlin from 1831 to 1832 . In 1848 he took over the falcon pharmacy in Tilsit and was city councilor from 1846 to 1850. From 1856 to 1870 he was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Prussia . In 1858 he was elected to the city council for the first time, but was not confirmed by the Royal Government, which election and non- confirmation was repeated three more times until it was finally confirmed under the new era . In 1866 he was again elected unanimously twice and both times not confirmed, whereupon he was confirmed again in 1867 after a new election.

Between 1870 and 1879 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives and between 1874 and 1878 of the German Reichstag for the Reichstag constituency of Gumbinnen 1 and the Progressive Party .
