Adolf Gustav Ditscheiner (born June 29, 1846 Vienna ; † January 12, 1904 there ) was an Austrian landscape painter .

Ditscheiner studied from 1866 to 1873 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Albert Zimmermann and Eduard Peithner von Lichtenfels . In 1871 he became a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus .

From 1876 to 1878 he continued his studies in Munich, after which he returned to Vienna.

Ditscheiner worked as a landscape painter mainly in Bavaria, Austria, Switzerland and South Tyrol. Along with Emil Jakob Schindler, he is considered one of the most important painters of Austrian mood impressionism .

He received awards at the world exhibition in Vienna in 1873 and the one in Chicago (1893) . In 1899 he was awarded the Little Golden State Medal.

After his death in 1904, a memorial show took place in the Vienna Künstlerhaus.
