Adolf Germann
Adolf Germann (born February 2, 1857 in Bleiken , † May 7, 1924 in Frauenfeld , reformed , entitled to live in Bleiken and Frauenfeld) was a Swiss politician (FDP) .
biography
Adolf Germann was born on February 2, 1857 in Bleiken as the son of the potter Johann Georg Germann. Between 1877 and 1881, Germann studied law in Munich , Zurich and Heidelberg , which he completed in 1881 with the academic degree of Dr. iur. completed.
As a result, Germann worked from 1881 to 1889 as a lawyer in Frauenfeld and clerk at the district courts in Diessenhofen , Steckborn and from 1881 to 1893 in Bischofszell . He was represented in the prosecution between 1887 and 1893. Germann then worked as a state lawyer until 1907 , then again as a lawyer.
In addition, Germann was a member of the board of directors at Embroidery Arbon between 1909 and 1924 . He also served in the Swiss Army in the position of colonel in the infantry .
Adolf Germann, who married Hermine, the daughter of the industrialist Hermann Kunz, in 1885 , died on May 7, 1924, three months after turning 67 in Frauenfeld. He was the father of the lawyer Oscar Adolf Germann .
Political career
Adolf Germann was one of the founders of the FDP Thurgau in 1890. He then acted as a member and actuary of the Frauenfeld local commission from 1893 to 1898. He was also a member of the Thurgau Grand Council from 1893 to 1914 , which he presided over in 1898/99 and 1902/03. After the parliamentary elections in 1896 he was a member of the National Council until 1914 . He led this from December 8, 1908 to December 6, 1909 as President. In the council he acted, among other things, as a consultant on the Gotthard Treaty .
After the collapse of Thurgauische Hypothekenbank, of which he was president from 1907, Adolf Germann resigned from all his political offices.
