Adolf Graß

Adolf Joseph Graß , also Grass (born November 12, 1841 in Düsseldorf ; † October 29, 1926 in Bozen ), was a German history and portrait painter from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

Graß studied painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy . There were Eduard Bendemann and Karl Ferdinand Sohn his most important teacher. He stayed in Rome and Bolzano for study purposes . In 1891 he moved to Innsbruck , later to the Erlacherhof in Gries am Brenner . Graß was a member of the Allgemeine Deutsche Kunstgenossenschaft and the Düsseldorf Artists Association for mutual support and help . In 1877 Graß exhibited at the art association for the Rhineland and Westphalia , in 1888 and 1889 at other exhibitions in his hometown.
