Adolf Innerkofler

Adolf Innerkofler CsSR (born December 18, 1872 in Sexten , South Tyrol ; † October 9, 1942 in Vienna ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and writer.

Innerkofler attended the school in Innichen , which was run by the Franciscans . In 1892 he joined the Redemptorist Order . In 1896 he was ordained a priest . Innerkofler became a teacher at the religious schools in Katzelsdorf and Mautern , was a missionary preacher at home and abroad and finally became a pastor in Kirchschlag, Mariabrunn and, from 1911, in Vienna . In Vienna he got to know Richard Kralik , whose Grail League he joined. Like him, he campaigned for a renewal of popular drama. Innerkofler worked as a popular narrator and playwright. In addition, he reorganized the Erler Passion Play and wrote religious stories, biographies and novels.

Since 1906 he was a member of the Catholic student union KÖHV Nordgau Vienna.
